Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible for the internship programme?
Anyone with the relevant skills can apply — you don't need to be a SmartHub graduate. We use a short skill assessment to confirm fit and match you to the right partner team.
How much does the programme cost?
The programme fee is ₦150,000, covering mentorship, project access, and the completion certificate. SmartHub Academy graduates get the programme free — we detect graduate status automatically from your application email.
Do interns get a stipend?
This is a learning-focused placement, not a paid role — interns work on live Smartech products under a mentor to build real-world experience and a portfolio they own. We may run paid placements with external partners in future cohorts, but for v1 there is no stipend.
When can I apply?
Applications are open year-round. New cohorts start regularly, so the sooner you apply and clear the skill assessment, the sooner you can be matched to a partner team.
What support is provided during the internship?
Throughout your internship, you'll have access to a dedicated mentor at the company, weekly check-ins with our career team, and continued access to our learning resources.
How are interns matched with companies?
We match based on your skills, career goals, and preferences, as well as the company's needs. You'll have the opportunity to interview with potential matches before final placement.
